HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.02 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 2.11 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.7 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.24 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.17 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.45 per cent at 48292.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 47.3 points at 21731.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 170.12 points at 72240.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power, Reliance Power and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Sanginita Chemicals, GTL Ltd, Akash Infra-Proj, Satin Creditcare and Rajshree Sugars hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Allcargo Logistics, Bajel Projects, Akshar Spintex, Raj Rayon and Muthoot Microfin hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.Connect with Experts - Wealth creation made easy
